Hearing loss is widely considered to be a typical limitation befalling the older generation. Only few people know how many people experience hearing loss at a young age and how much hearing loss can affect a person's social life. Accordingly, the possible causes of hearing loss, ways to protect your hearing and solutions to address hearing loss are also not common knowledge.
Hear the World is a worldwide campaign initiated by hearing aid manufacturer Phonak to raise awareness of possible causes of hearing loss, present prevention strategies and offer help.
The campaign has won famous ambassadors: Stars like Bryan Adams, Plácido Domingo, Annie Lennox or Diane Kruger support the cause and help raise public awareness.
The new web presence designed by 21TORR plays a major role in communicating the information about hearing loss and its prevention clearly and interactively, while promoting appreciation of good hearing. The clean and appealing tonality of the design prepares homepage visitors for the site’s content with great sensitivity. A large image area shows current topics, events and the illustrious ambassadors of the initiative who emphasize the importance of the subject matter. Site navigation is presented clearly visible in a prominent box and evokes the association of chapters that encourage the user to open them. On the pages, visitors will find extensive material about the subjects "Recognizing hearing loss" and "Experience your hearing" as well as information about the "Campaign" and the "Magazine". A particularly important navigation point is "Share your experience", which facilitates a dialogue between people with hearing loss, interested visitors and experts.
Technologically, the platform is based on a HTML/PHP framework with interactive Flash elements. The entire content can be managed and expanded with the Open Source CMS TYPO3.
