Digital platform for Germany's largest organic association – Bioland

Future-proof website for members and prospective members

Bioland, Germany's largest organic association with over 10,000 farms, faced the challenge in 2024 of adapting its grown digital infrastructure to new requirements. The existing Typo3 website and several standalone solutions were to be consolidated into a future-proof platform – with a clear focus on attracting new members, an improved presentation of events, and centralised access to all key services. The result: a modern, scalable website with optimised user guidance.

Approach

Holistic Modernisation of the Digital Infrastructure

We analysed the existing architecture and defined a future-proof technical foundation. We opted for Next.js, Storyblok as the headless CMS, and a scalable design system. The focus was on tailored user guidance for prospective new members, the central consolidation of relevant information, and the integration of services into a consistent system.

Solution

Integration of Central Services into One Hub

The previously separate solutions for events, member area and specialist publishing were restructured and seamlessly integrated. The event booking tool “doo” was connected via an interface to create a seamless booking experience for around 800 annual events. MeinBioland now serves as a digital service hub for members, while the specialist publisher received its own news section within the platform.

Result

Efficient, Scalable Digital Ecosystem

The result is a modern website that serves as a central point of contact for both prospective and existing members. The new architecture is future-proof, modularly expandable, and optimised for conversion. Events can now be easily booked, specialist content is clearly structured, and the digital ecosystem enhances the association's reach and efficiency.
