Creating a digital showroom

Challenge: Mastering the digital repositioning in the retail sector

Digitalisation is driving the pressure for change in retail and commercial spaces faster than ever before. This forces both markets and companies to adapt to constantly shifting consumer habits. But how can this dynamic be transformed into new approaches? The answer lies in actively establishing a digital presence and rethinking the possibilities of digital product presentation – a digital showroom is called for.

Approach

Relaunch for a company with tradition

Together with furniture manufacturer Thonet, 21TORR transformed its online presence into a digital showroom through a major relaunch. In doing so, the heritage company – which has been writing international design history with its bentwood and tubular steel furniture for 200 years – is placing greater emphasis on showcasing its furniture collection in the digital space. The goal: to offer customers inspiring ideas and application scenarios for furnishing with Thonet products.

Designed to adapt across the experience

The visual design of the new presence is focused on clarity in structure and UI design following the relaunch. The development process kept the needs of the individual target groups at the centre. Simple navigation, compelling storytelling, large image worlds and the use of interactive elements bring the digital showroom to life and guide visitors quickly to the content they are looking for.

Built for flexibility

Thanks to modular components, the new content management system is precisely tailored to Thonet’s requirements and enables target-group-specific content assembly and presentation for the digital showroom through flexible modules. It also supports Thonet’s high standards for first-class design.

Users can now virtually explore and configure the different surface and material variants of individual models through integrated 3D visualisations. CAD data downloads make it easier for interior designers and architects to plan how furniture pieces fit into large or small spaces. In addition to background information – on applications in various settings, individual services and more – the virtual showroom also offers insights into the brand’s fascinating history.

Each piece of furniture offers various options for integration in a room, which is why we showcase our products in their application in the digital showroom – giving our customers a visual and digital experience.
