Remote Trade Fair Hub

Challenge: staging the trade fair experience as a virtual event

Every two years, furniture hardware manufacturer Blum presents its latest products at interzum – the global flagship trade fair for the furniture manufacturing industry. An international event that thrives on customer proximity, where the tactile experience of the exhibited products plays a central role. So what does the trade fair visit of the future look like – in times of a pandemic and beyond?

Approach

An experience with perfect user experience

Under the banner of “Blum CONNECTS”, the traditionally analogue trade fair concept is transformed into a digital trade fair hub – enabling products, innovations and design ideas to be presented to the right audiences. The focus: turning the remote trade fair visit into an immersive experience through cross-media formats, brought together in the hub during the virtual event. High-performing worldwide, available in 27 languages, and built to the highest standards of design, user experience and performance.

The remote trade fair hub is

  • Digital: Whenever, wherever – all it takes is an internet connection to dive into the digital trade fair experience.

  • Interactive: Scrollytelling, animations and video content enhance the user experience, deepen immersion and invite interaction.

  • Moving: “Moving ideas” – Blum’s guiding principle is reflected in every aspect of the experience platform.

Solution

The trade fair experience of the future

The Blum Remote Trade Fair Hub proves that virtual events can hold their own against their offline counterparts. Digital, interactive, moving – the experiential quality takes centre stage, combined with a simple and intuitive user experience. Whether exploring the content at your own pace, diving deep into personalised trade fair content, engaging in personal exchanges on products and the brand via live sessions with Blum experts, or watching streamed talks from the purpose-built trade fair stand at Blum’s headquarters in Vorarlberg: this is what the trade fair visit of the future looks like.

Blum CONNECTS, the interactive digital trade fair format, was honoured with the German Brand Award 2021 in the category “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Events”.
