
A High-Performance E-Commerce System
The products of Märklin’s Collector’s Edition are released in limited numbers — the exclusive edition therefore experiences a time-limited but extremely high, concentrated demand. Consequently, an e-commerce platform is needed that performs flawlessly under peak load. Equally important: the solution must offer enough design flexibility to allow for a bespoke shop design.


Solution: Shopify with Message Wagons Shop Design
To meet the high demand for the wagons, we chose the robust e-commerce system Shopify. As an official Shopify partner, we knew that this solution would allow us to customise the Message Wagons web shop extensively to suit the needs of Märklin and its target audiences — while also withstanding the large rush of customers at the time of the sales launch.
The shop goes live as part of a three-stage campaign for both artists, with targeted content. In each phase, more and more information about the respective artist and the design of the Message Wagons is revealed, until finally, when a countdown expires, the web shop becomes accessible to all interested parties. From that point on, the items of the collector’s edition can be purchased in just a few clicks via a conversion-optimised customer journey.
